Popov, Nikolai (died 12/01/1879) – Dean of the Cathedral of Helsinki, and public figure, a native of Vologda Province. Was brought up in Vologda Theological Seminary of the St. Petersburg Theological Academy, a course which he graduated in 1853 with a master's degree and was soon appointed a priest the Church of St.. Trinity in Helsinki, where, with his participation, was built Uspensky Orthodox Cathedral, in which he was appointed rector, except for the performance of his priestly duties, PP was more scribes in Helsingfors school since its founding in 1876, the Finnish education : girls' school and normal Lyceum. In addition, it owes its foundation Helsingfors Russian folk schools, men and women. As a public figure, PL was the main person in managing the affairs of the local Orthodox parish, for which he always acted.
