Biography Helios

Helios (rimsk. Sol) – a solar deity, son of titanium Hyperion, the brother of Selena and Eosa. Since Euripides Helios, as the all-seeing sun god, became identified with Apollo, all-knowing God-prophet, hence another name Helios – Phoebus. The cult, was especially common in Corinth, in Argos in Elis and on the island of Rhodes, where, at the entrance to the harbor, stood his colossal image. Among the animals he dealt with cock and white horses. G. depicted almost as much as the Apollo.
