Damocles (DamoclhV) (405 BC X. – 367, before Robert X.) – a favorite saint and Syracusan tyrant Dionysius the Elder, who suffered under the age deeply suspicious of the people and the fear of assassination attempts on his life.
Once D. extolled the tyrant as the happiest of men. In response to this tyrant offered to give her happiness AD and handed in his complete disposal of his palace, with all its splendor and all the pleasures. For a while DA was drowning in bliss until one morning he saw above him a sword hung from the ceiling of a horse hair. D. realized the futility of the joys of the tyrant Dionysius and requested to release him from the palace. Hence the expression "the sword of Damocles", which is close, constantly in danger, the apparent prosperity and success.
