Ambrose (Saint, of Milan) (340 – 04.04.397) – one of the finest church fathers, was born (as suggested) from the Prefect of Gaul, in Trier, about 340 g was educated in Rome, and already in 369, he was appointed governor of the northern Valentinian Italy, with headquarters in Milan. Selected works translated A. F. X. Schulte (Vol. I and II, Kempten, 1871 – 1880). Wed Bonar, "Histoire de Saint-Ambroise" (Paris, 1871; in German. Bittl, Freiburg, 1874).
